Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)

Given employees make up a significant resource of any organisation, the mental, emotional and physical health of employees is critical to ongoing business success.  Just as machinery and technology requires maintenance and adjustments over time, so do a subset of your employees who in their life and reality will from time to time come under various forms of personal or workplace duress. Life's journey presents us all with challenges and the odd crisis. Organisations are not typically resourced to deal with issues like these as found in their workforce.

An Employee Assistance Program ideally offers a combination of individual clinical services and organisational consultancy aimed at early identification, intervention and resolution of behavioural, emotional and mental problems (work related or personal) that may adversely affect performance and relationships in the workplace.  Employees may also avail of the service when undergoing confusion or crisis of their self, their meaning in life, or sense of purpose.

Clinical services for individuals

Corporate Energetics offer an early intervention or resolution for employees' personal problems that might otherwise adversely affect performance, and which also supports an organisation's Occupational Health & Safety objectives. We offer a package of 6 private and confidential sessions with an employee, away from the workplace, where in strictest confidentiality, they can share and discuss personal or relationship issues.  The employer pays for each session, conducted in work hours, but is not privy to the content of sessions or disclosure by the employee.

Clinical services for Workplace conflicts

Corporate Energetics also offers an early intervention or resolution for employees' workplace conflicts or disputes that have been escalated to the HR function in the organisation. We get involved where the HR Professional recommends some form of counselling, Stress or Anger Management, so that issues that adversely affect performance, or which contravene an organisation's Occupational Health & Safety objectives, can be resolved.

360 Degree Feedback

The 360 degree feedback process is a way of eliciting a detailed account of how others experience a senior figure in the organisation, where a critical appraisal may lead to more efficient and more comfortable working relationships. This tool is now being commonly applied in organisations as part of the annual performance review cycle.

Our experience of 360 degree feedback tools and processes has been that organisations are adept at running the 360 degree feedback process to the point of producing the key graphs and pie-charts which reveal the results of the feedback process.

However, upon the handover to the executive or employee there is normally little follow up or an effective plan or process put in place to deal with the identified under-developed aspects of the executive or employee.  Many Executive Coaches fail to understand the results or be able to translate them into effective coaching solutions.

Sometimes the results highlight emotional or Emotional Intelligence issues stemming from the personality which require knowledge of psychology or related disciplines in order for an intervention to be effective.  Organisations typically struggle with how to deal with these deeper issues and so often avoid doing so.
